Ellie Forrester is a Scottish soprano currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she studies under the tutelage of Mary Plazas. This autumn, she will join the 2026/27 cohort at the National Opera Studio (NOS).
Her operatic repertoire includes roles such as The Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen), Fata Morgana (L’amour des trois oranges), Elettra (Idomeneo), Miss Wingrave (Owen Wingrave), La Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro), and Asphodèle (L’étoile). This summer, Ellie joins Garsington Opera as an Alvarez Emerging Artist, covering the role of Marianne Leitmetzerin (Der Rosenkavalier).
A versatile performer on the recital and concert stage, Ellie has appeared as a soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Handel’s Solomon, and Vivaldi’s Dixit Dominus and Magnificat, alongside numerous recitals across the UK.
At the RNCM, she was awarded second prize in The Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss, was a finalist in The Frederic Cox Award, and is a recipient of the Dame Eva Turner Award.
